CONSTELLATION ENGINEERING OCIMF MARINE HOSE TESTING EQUIPMENT/RIGS

Constellation Engineering manufactures a full range of test equipment to perform testing of GMPHOM 2009 marine hose in accordance with the SMOG 2015 guidelines.

There are 3 standard rigs that perform and record tests/functions, as follows:

Offshore Integrity Rig:

Skid based self-contained diesel powered pump unit. Suitable for testing the entire hose string as detailed in Section 5.6.3 of SMOG 2015 – Hydrostatic Pressure Testing of Hose Strings In-Situ.

Fully certified to DNV 2.7-1 and specifically designed for offshore lifting and operation.

Supplied with suitably sized filling and pressure pumps, the skid also contains an on-board dosing pump allowing precise dosing of fluorescent tracer dye when filling the hose string.

Test results are captured by an on-board telemetry pack consisting of digital data logger and secondary backup paper chart.

Maintenance Test Rig:

Suitable for performing the maintenance recertification tests as detailed in SMOG 2015. These tests include:

  • Section 5.7.2 – Hydrostatic Pressure Test
  • Section 5.7.3 – Vacuum Test
  • Section 5.7.4 – Electrical Test

The rig is supplied with removable filling and vacuum pumps, allowing multiple tasks to be performed onsite. DNV 2.7-1 approved lifting skid, trolley or road going trailer options available.

Burst Test Rig:

  • Skid based self-contained pump unit suitable for end of life destructive testing of hoses as detailed in Section 5.8.1 of SMOG 2015 – Burst Test.
  • Suitable for use on single and double carcass hose
  • The rig is supplied with adequately sized pump to test even the largest diameter of hose.
  • Test results are captured by an on-board telemetry pack consisting of digital data logger and secondary backup paper chart.
  • DNV 2.7-1 approved lifting skid, trolley or road going trailer options available.

CONSTELLATION ENGINEERING HEAVY DUTY LOW PROFILE BUTTERFLY VALVE SPECIFICALLY MANUFACTURED FOR OCIMF MARINE HOSES

Constellation Engineering’s marine hose butterfly valve is specially designed for the harsh conditions experienced offshore.

The only valve on the market designed exclusively for OCIMF marine hose use. The low profile design reduces impacts when handling and heavy duty locking mechanisms give a long service life.

Easy to operate and 100% serviceable, it is designed and rated to accommodate maximum flow rates and line speeds of up to 21 m/s in accordance with OCIMF guidelines.

Supplied in ANSI 150 and ANSI 300 flange ratings, our valve are compatible with all types of marine hose.

CONSTELLATION ENGINEERING ATTENDS SLOM AND ADIPEC OIL AND GAS TRADE SHOWS IN 2018

In 2018 Constellation Engineering made a business decision to attend the SLOM EXPO in Ecuador, as well as the ADIPEC EXPO in Abu Dhabi.

We had our own stand at both of the EXPO’s. Constellation attended these EXPO’s to make the Oil and Gas Terminals in South America and the Middle East aware of the products and services that we are able to offer to the OCIMF marine hose industry.

There were quite a few visitors to our stand at both EXPO’s that were specifically looking for the following OCIMF Marine Hose products that are manufactured by Constellation Engineering:

  • Pick-up buoy, mooring buoy and chafe chain support buoys

  • Hose life extension through burst testing, rubber sampling and ORCAFLEX analysis.

Constellation Engineering has had a very active Year in 2018.

Highlights for the Year included the following:

         Marketing:

  • A 2 page e-mail flyer created.
  • A 24 page full colour A4 brochure created.
  • Exhibited at 2 trade shows, being SLOM in Ecuador and ADIPEC in Abu Dhabi.Projects:

Constellation Engineering has been involved with a variety of projects, proving how wide our product and service offerings are to the OCIMF marine hose industry. Projects that Constellation completed include the following:

  • Manufacture and supply of a wide range of ancillary equipment including butterfly valves, camlocks, spool pieces (Including 2 x J-Tubes), winker lights, marine hose test rigs, DNV 2.7-1 lifting frame and pelican hooks.
  • Sold a wide variety of stud bolts and nuts together with the ancillary equipment that was sent worldwide.
  • Supplied chains to customers, including pick-up chains and snubbing/hang-off chains.
  • Sourced and supplied equipment that we do not manufacture including spares and tools.
  • Carried out OCIMF marine hose testing, maintenance and repairs onsite for terminals in Ghana and the UK. Training was also incorporated in to the service offerings in Ghana.
  • Constellation has also worked on projects that are outside its core business, including dock hose testing, Pressure testing heat exchangers and testing of pressure release valves.

SLOM JORNADA EXPO – ECUADOR, SOUTH AMERICA

TESTING OF OCIMF MARINE HOSES – UK

July 2018:

Constellation Engineering was contracted to provide OCIMF Marine Hose inspection services to Eni in the UK.

The scope of work included:

  • Review client’s test and inspection plan
  • Ensure OCIMF compliance of test site
  • Provide independent 3rdparty OCIMF field inspector for duration of tests

Two full hose strings comprising of oil delivery and vapour return lines were inspected and tested.

Constellation provided a full report detailing hose condition and inspection results to the client.

TRAINING AND TESTING OF OCIMF MARINE HOSES – GHANA

Constellation Engineering was tasked by a large client in Ghana to do OCIMF Marine Hose training. The training was done according to SMOG 2015. Practical training and testing was also incorporated into the regiment.

Constellation tested equipment that the same client had previously purchased, were also used in the training and testing processes.

The MD of Constellation and the field engineer spent a week doing the training during a change-out of the Marine Hoses in Tema.
